St. Patrick’s Day is officially Thursday, March 17, 2016 but lucky Long Islanders can celebrate all month long with parades across the East End. LIBOR's Hamptons Chapter will be sponsoring a float at the 12th Annual Hampton Bays St. Patrick’s Parade on Saturday, March 19th at 11 a.m. The parade starts at the Hampton Bays Elementary School on Ponquogue Avenue to Montauk Highway and west to the reviewing stand, ending in the Hampton Atrium parking lot and it will be featuring eight bagpipe bands, various floats (including the LIBOR float!), Irish dancers and local youth groups. This sponsorship is made through the “We’re More than REALTORS®” (WMTR) campaign, which raises public awareness about the Realtor® endeavors in our community, in addition to helping local residents buy and sell homes.
The WMTR campaign was created by LIBOR’s Public Relations committee in 2006. Over the past ten years the campaign has supported numerous organizations and philanthropic community programs across Long Island and throughout the world. Each year LIBOR members diligently dedicate their time and energy to support these programs; helping to make Long Island a better place to live. From sponsoring the building of Habitat for Humanity homes yearly, to constructing wheelchair ramps for the disabled with Rebuilding Together Long Island, to creating scholarship programs for Veterans and Boy/Girl Scouts, and running our year round Realtors® Against Hunger (RAH) program, to actively opposing any public policies that impede homeownership opportunities. Making a difference in our communities and touching lives in the neighborhoods in which we serve, is the embodiment of the "We're More Than Realtors®" campaign.
These are just a few of the many elements that encompass the “We’re More Than Realtors®” campaign. LIBOR is committed to continue our efforts with community organizations and outreach programs; and to inform and inspire our community to help those in need.
